Hi! I’m Phil. A senior product designer.

I mostly clean up complicated products. Product janitor sounded worse on LinkedIn…

I like the messy parts.

Products collect things over time. New features, old features, workarounds, and usually at least one thing nobody wants to touch because “it has always worked like that…”. Thats normally where I get interested.

I like to figure out why the mess exists

I don’t start by making things prettier. I want to know what connects to what. Which rules actually matters, where people get stuck and where we just can get rid of it. Because less interface is often a better interface.

I make a lot of things outside work too.

I play in bands, record music and paint. I’m always involved in some kind of art project where friction is a big part of it. Things that haven’t had all the personality polished out of them. And I probably bring some of that to work too.

Anyway…

13 years in, I still like taking something complicated and making it make more sense.

Based in Gothenburg and open to senior product design roles and selected contract work.

An outdoor art display showing a partially completed painting of the New York City skyline reflected in water. Art supplies are on a small brick platform in front of the painting. A man in a blue jacket and shorts stands nearby, smiling. The setting appears to be an outdoor art market or studio with other artworks and structures around.

Over the years I have worked with client such as
